The City of Meridian is committed to having a trained workforce. The need for training never ceases and having a training center dedicated for this purpose has proven a tremendous asset for our citizens and employees.

Situated on approximately 99 acres, the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Safety Training Facility has been at the cutting edge of basic and advanced firefighter and law enforcement training for over 10 years. Meridian has hosted many Homeland Security–sponsored events as well as a national-level exercise since its inception.

A three-story drill tower with live fire capabilities, a driving track, firing ranges, confined space, collapse structure, and an Amtrak rail site are all working props that are used by our first responders for training.
